John Phillip sousa award

Introduced in 1955 by the Instrumentalist Magazine to honor the top student in every high school band around the country. This award recognizes superior musicianship, leadership and outstanding dedication. Known as the March King, John Phillip Sousa was an American composer and pioneer bandleader who lead the United States Marine Corp Band and composed many of the standard marches for band. At Huron we honor the most outstanding senior who has served the band with their superior musicianship, leadership, and commitment with the highest distinction.
