New York tour - Carnegie Hall 2026
|
The Ann Arbor Huron High School Bands have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in the Spring of 2026. This showcase would feature Bands from Huron on the main stage at the historic Carnegie Hall. The band members would also be partaking in masterclasses with world class musicians, visiting iconic sights and sounds around NYC, and having the opportunity to share a once in a lifetime experience with our band community.
The invitation to perform in NYC has been extended to Concert Band Green, Symphony Band and Jazz Band and this opportunity will be available to all students who are enrolled in those classes for the 2025-2026 school year. We would need significant interest, balanced instrumentation from each ensemble, and a commitment to fundraise for those students who may have financial challenges, in order to make each ensemble viable for touring. The purpose of this performance is to showcase our Ann Arbor Band traditions and talent to a world class audience in a world class hall, as well being able to share a life changing performance with our sister schools in Ann Arbor. Our proposed travel dates will be available soon and would require advanced planning from all of our families including planning and participation of fundraisers to assist students who may need financial support. Here’s a brief summary of the key points:
We will be having a mandatory trip meeting on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 7:30pm in Meyer Auditorium for those eligible families. Specific trip details and itineraries will be shared at this meeting. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Looking forward to creating a life changing experience for the students of the Huron Band. - Mr. Ash ([email protected]) |
