patrick gilmore award

Introduced in 1994 in honor of the legendary bandmaster and impresario, Gilmore (1829-1892) was famous for leading military bands during the Civil War as well as popularizing marching and concert band music. The Gilmore Award honors high school band students and their excellent musicianship, leadership, and commitment to the band.
