Snap Raise! – HMA Fundraiser – Fall 2022
Dear Huron Band Families –
Please read the information below in preparation for our Snap Raise fundraiser. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Ash at [email protected].
What is Snap Raise?
Snap! Raise is the nation's largest digital fundraising platform for teams, schools, and youth groups. Founded in 2014, Snap! Raise is a privately-held company headquartered in Seattle, Washington with representatives all over the United States. Snap! Raise provides an expert, data-driven service that helps programs meet their fundraising needs, saving time, energy, and resources for kids, group leaders, and supporters.
Since launching its first campaign in 2014, the company has facilitated over $410 million in donations for program s nationwide and has had the pleasure of working with more than 89,000 teams and groups, 3.4M students, and tens of thousands of coaches, directors, and booster clubs around the country.
With Snap Raise, we never have to sell physical products or go door to door again – Snap! Raise makes fundraising safe, quick, and easy.
Our students will be involved in an online fundraising campaign, much like Go Fund Me. Snap Raise provides a comprehensive online tool for our students to reach out to their extended family in request of their support.
How does Snap Raise Work?
Our students have already created accounts during class time, but just in case they haven’t here is a video on how to create a Snap Raise Account How to Create an Account.
This QR code will help you to get signed up for our fundraiser. If you already have a Snap Raise Account, please do not create a new account. Snap Raise will give you access to email addresses from your previous fundraising campaigns.
Once your account has been linked to our fundraising campaign, the students will then input 15-20 valid email addresses from their extended network of supporters into the Snap Raise portal.

What is Our Fundraising Goal?
There is no specific required per student monetary goal for this fundraiser, but our 2021 Snap Raise campaign gives us insight into the possibilities.
In 2021, the student participation throughout the HMA (Band, Choir, and Orchestra) was about 47% and we raised $45,856 for our department (360 students raised some type of monies during this campaign – the band’s portion of this was approximately $20,000). This the largest Snap campaign in state of Michigan history. The average raise of the 2021 campaign was $310 per student.
If each student in the music department was able to raise the national average of $350, the HMA would roughly raise $127,750. This would be a game changing amount of money for our department. If each student had 20 valid emails, and each of those donors donated $17.50, the goal would be met.
While this may be out of reach for some of our families, it shows the power of a large program and full participation in the fundraiser.
All we ask is that students fully participate in the fundraiser by uploading as many valid email addresses of people that will support them in their musical endeavors as possible.
Why do we need to Fundraise?
While the district does give us a budget for music and repairs, it is not enough to run our nationally recognized program at the level it needs or deserves. Our fundraising money will go toward the following needs:
Percussion/Drumline Instructor
Color Guard Instructor
Marching Drill
Marching Band Music
Marching Band Equipment (PA systems/Ladders/etc.)
Percussion Head Replacement
Festival Registration Fees (Marching/Concert Jazz)
Ensemble Transportation (Marching/Concert Jazz)
Sectional Coaches (Marching/Concert Jazz)
New Music Commissioning
Guest Conductors/Clinicians
Music Rentals
Private Lesson Scholarships
New Instrument Purchases
Tour Scholarships
Band Camp Scholarships
Instrument Maintenance and Repairs
Uniform Alterations and Purchases
Miscellaneous Equipment
Is Participation in the Snap Raise Fundraiser Required?
Participation in our 2022 Snap Raise Campaign is not required, but every student is asked to fully participate. Our goal is to increase our program participation to 60%.
Our family is not comfortable participating in the Snap Raise Campaign, but would like to offer a donation. Is this possible?
If your family is not comfortable participating with Snap Raise, it is possible to send in a donation directly to the HMA. Please make sure that all checks are made out to the Huron Music Association with 2022 Band Fundraiser in the memo.
